Sarah's Birthday Weekend

Our sweet Sarah turned 7 yesterday!

She was thrilled to get an iTouch and boom box for her birthday!  The songs of Taylor Swift have been played over and over {....and over.....aaand oovvvver} in the house today.  I am SO happy that she just loves her gifts but am a bit emotional as I see her growing up right before our eyes.

When we asked Sarah if she would like to have a party or go into NYC with her family, she chose NYC!

One may wonder if we were being adventurous or crazy to take 4 children into NYC.  I would have to say that it was crazy!  Trying to keep track of everyone plus all the hats, mittens, and coats that were donned and doffed throughout the day, and the little {almost 3 year old boy} that demanded to be carried everywhere, was enough to drive me looney!

but....the looks of joy, wonder, awe and amazement seen on their little faces was enough to melt my heart and make it all worth it.

First stop was the American Girl Doll store for a
Birthday Brunch.

Then we went to Toys R Us in Times Square and rode the ferris wheel.

and then........the battery pack in the camera died - boo.

The rest of day included a trip to the LEGO store in Rockefeller Center {check out the link to see the fun lego brick wall in the store} and then to the Plaza {the link shows the charming Eloise store} to check out where our favorite little troublemaker, Eloise, skibbles about.

Today Sarah had another busy day.  We all went out to see her compete in her second feis (Irish Dancing Competition).

Sarah did wonderfully and placed 2nd!  Most importantly she had fun!

It was a busy weekend full of fun, excitement and emotions as we watch our baby girl continue to grow and mature into a
lovely big girl.

Happy Birthday to our sweet Sarah!

  2. That's a great looking cake at AG. Is it something you ordered ahead of time?

My middle daughter (7) is just starting to get serious about Irish dancing. We have a friend whose daughter has been doing it for several years. Seeing their experiences, I sometimes wonder "What are we getting ourselves into here?" For now, she's just having fun.

  3. Hi Shari! The AG cake was great looking and yummy too! We booked a brunch there and added the 'birthday package' which included the tiara, cake, and favors.
Right now Sarah is just having fun with Irish dancing too. I agree, it looks pretty intense as they get older! We are taking it step by step and seeing where she goes with it!
    Thanks for reading!
